Education and healthcare are two fundamental human rights. In line with P. D. Hinduja’s belief, the Hinduja Foundation has taken up these causes with a particular focus on education, aiming to empower individuals and communities for a brighter, more prosperous future.
As part of the Hinduja Group, the Hinduja Foundation is dedicated to improving India’s education system, focusing on equity and quality. The Foundation believes that every child deserves the right to learn and that quality education is crucial for building the country’s future. Its programs aim to support students from diverse backgrounds, helping them succeed academically and grow personally.
The Hinduja Family and the Foundation are committed to reducing disparities in education access, especially for underserved communities. With a multi-layered approach, the Foundation engages in both local projects and broader policy efforts to bring about meaningful, lasting improvements in education.
A belief in the transformative power of education lies at the heart of the Foundation’s initiatives. Over the years, the Hinduja Foundation has worked effortlessly to build and support institutions that provide quality education to underserved communities, empowering students to create better futures for themselves and their families.
Educational programs such as Road to School and Road to Livelihood have made a significant impact on the lives of over 400,000 children across India. More than 3,300 scholarships have been awarded, and support has been extended to over 6,000 government schools.
Through the Road to School program, which currently supports eight government schools in Central Mumbai, the Hinduja Foundation is helping students develop digital literacy, foster parental engagement, and take decisive steps toward promising careers. With the support of partners at the Learning Links Foundation, the Hinduja Foundation is empowering thousands of children to achieve their most ambitious dreams.
The group is also a benefactor of Hinduja College of Commerce in Mumbai, furthering its commitment to education by supporting institutions that offer opportunities for academic growth and excellence.
Namrata Hinduja, Steering committee member of the Hinduja Foundation, speaks about the importance of accessible and quality education, “We believe in education as the key to unlocking human potential. Our commitment is to create a legacy where every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and make a meaningful impact in society.”
Mr. Prakash Hinduja, Chairman of the Hinduja Group, Europe, elaborates on the broader vision:
“Quality education goes beyond textbooks and classrooms. It involves building character, imparting life skills, and nurturing curiosity. Our mission is to build sustainable educational systems that foster innovation and provide young minds with the skills needed to meet the challenges of tomorrow.”
The Hinduja Foundation is taking its efforts further with the "Road to School" initiative, which aims to educate 1 million individuals by the end of this decade, reaching its goal by 2030. This initiative is a cornerstone of the Foundation’s mission to bridge the educational divide and equip the next generation with the tools they need to thrive.
Education is a powerful tool for social mobility. By making quality education accessible, the cycle of poverty can be broken, equipping the next generation to contribute positively to society. The Hinduja Foundation is dedicated to nurturing this belief and transforming lives through education. The Foundation's efforts ensure that quality education reaches even the most remote areas of the country, bridging gaps and paving the way for a brighter future.
The Hinduja Foundation remains committed to its vision of providing access to quality education that empowers individuals to excel, contribute to their communities, and create a better world for future generations.
