Bioprinting organs
iPSC for 3D bio-printing is also widely used to detect drugs. By printing organs on the chip, it can better simulate the internal environment of the human body, thereby improving the accuracy and efficiency of drug detection. The figure below shows a system that integrates the heart, lungs, and liver. Compared with traditional drug detection methods, this can be done in the laboratory at a lower cost and better simulate the living environment. This technology proves that accurate models can improve the way we evaluate new drugs, such as generating "organoids" composed of multiple types of cells, and tumor models with engineered blood vessels.
