The Journey Of Discovery
We are all born with gifts locked inside of us to use to fulfill our life mission. Some of us know at an early age who we want to be when we grow up, while others struggle to know what they are called to do. In the midst of what others think your good at and the chatter of what direction you should go, how do you know if you're aligned with your destiny? This is not an easy process, but it is well worth it at the end of the day.
What motivates or inspires you? What would you still love to do if you didn't get paid to do it? These are two questions that you should ask yourself and be honest when answering them. Sometimes we're not honest with who we are on the inside because we're so busy trying to be someone that we're not on the outside. Not being honest with ourselves becomes a case of misplaced identity.
What is misplaced identity? This is a case in which who we are called to be gets misplaced with our doubts, fears, insecurities, and other people's opinions, along with their fears of our future. When those who we look up to start to not believe in our gifts and life purpose, we tend to misplace who we are with a person who is the complete opposite of our identity. Staying true to yourself and following your basic instinct even when people don't believe in you can help you keep pushing to manifest your purpose.
Your Job and Purpose are different...
Throughout the journey of finding your purpose, you will work many different jobs along the way. Working different jobs can be a bittersweet experience because some of your jobs will not align with your purpose. This process can become a little frustrating, especially if you're not feeling fulfilled in what you're doing. Always remember to look on the bright side; each job you have ever worked in some shape and form has helped prepare you along the way. Many of you would say Well; my job is my purpose but, to be honest with you, your job and purpose are two different things.
Purpose can be defined as the contributing factors that give you fulfillment, satisfaction, and motivation. Opportunities from service-learning jobs and even responsibilities within your family shape and redefine you to make a difference and impact the world. Making a difference in the world through your life purpose connects you with individuals you will meet along your journey assigned to you.
Let's say that apart of your purpose is to encourage women who have low self-esteem. Have you ever noticed that you will always encounter people who hold a piece to the puzzle of what is dear to your heart? Life has a funny way of helping you to find out who you are called to be. Circumstances, whether good or bad, can help to shine a light on areas you need to focus on. Your purpose is not just for your own gain and to make your name great; it is mainly to impact and help those who you will inspire. Inspiring and motivating people is done by putting your skills to work by laboring and helping those in need.
A job is the opportunity to gain new skills along with strengthening the abilities that you already have. Having a job is more than just being something you do to receive a paycheck or part of your career. Look at a job as the piece to the puzzle that works together to put together your purpose. The challenges and daily tasks that you perform helps you to realize your abilities along with adding growth to not only just your bank account but to your skillset.
Believe in yourself when nobody else does
Don't talk yourself out of pursuing your purpose; change your speech. So many times, we are afraid of taking the first steps to get to the next level. Growth and change are always on the other side of our comfort zone. Taking the first steps can be nerve-racking, especially when that door of breakthrough doesn't open up instantly. It will take hard work and dedication to attract what you want to become a reality in your life.
Once you take those first steps after discovering your purpose, many people will not believe in what you're doing. Most of the time, people will want you to do what is popular or what makes the most sense. Not everyone will believe in you, but what matters the most is that you believe and have confidence in yourself. Nothing and no one will stop you from chasing your dreams and fulfilling your purpose when you believe in yourself.
Live in your truth and follow your heart
Have you ever heard of the phrase: "Your gift will make room for you"? Well, this means that once you put in the work to achieve what you put your mind to, everything else will come together. Don't be afraid to go with your gut feeling when finding your place in life. Change the narrative of your story, go from feeling uncertain and afraid that it will not work out to being determined.
Determination is the key to success, and it is everything you desire on the other side, all leading you to your bliss. Think of your bliss as the final stage of finding your purpose. At this final stage, everything that has happened in your life, including the delays to the setbacks, all has happened for a reason. We will never understand why certain things occur when it happens, but at your bliss all the good and the bad life events now make sense.
The Outcome of the Journey
You are here for a reason, every plan and assignment for your life is already in you, but it's up to you to take the journey to unlock it. Whoever said that the road to finding your purpose would be easy? Throughout each frustration, challenge, and uncertainty, you have gained the wisdom to focus on the bigger picture at hand. Never think for a second that what you say or do doesn't impact the lives of those you encounter daily. Someone is waiting on you to take the journey of discovering your purpose. What you will contribute to this world will make a bigger impact than you could ever imagine.
