Legend starring Tom Cruise as a forest child and Mia Sara as Princess Lily is about a classic story of Good and Evil, however, it shows how Good and Evil have a relationship where one can not coexist without the other.
It takes place in a forest where there lives a forest child named Jack who is in love with a princess named Lily who learns from him the languages of the animals and commit a terrible crime by touching a unicorn that puts her soul at risk as well as the rest of the world plummeting it into an everlasting cold and dark winter.
The Lord of Darkness played by Tim Curry is threatened by the presence of the unicorns that come in the forest for only a short time because the unicorns contain so much power yet be such delicate creatures that the world could be possibly ruled by them while he thrives alone in the darkness.
So he ordered his servant Blix, a loathsome goblin to trap the unicorns and steal their horns so he can control their power which he will use to banish light forever and rule the universe with it.
Jack along with his newfound fairy friends The Gump, his pixie Ohna Screwball and his best friend RumTom learns about greed, selfishness, and hidden dangers of monsters in a dark world as he travels to save the woman he loves who has now been kidnapped along with the female unicorn by Blix and his evil friends who were sent back by the Lord of Darkness.
The Lord of Darkness was unsatisfied that he did not get the female unicorn's horn which left behind because while he has power from the male - he can not create anything from it because the power of creation comes from the female who Blix thought of as useless.
While this rare fairytale ends with the common knowledge that what brings life out of death is love where Jack kisses Lily in order to wake her up from a dark and terrible spell, the Lord of Darkness is not dead but returns from his long and dark fall into the abyss.
The unicorns are brought to life by the return of their horns, the long cold and dark winter has ended and summer has returned to the forest. Princess Lily remembers her mistake the first time when Jack whose character as a forest child has grown into a man takes her to see the unicorns for the second time, never touching the unicorns again since it is forbidden but watching them instead whereas she disregards Jack's warning the first time.
Even though they are unaware of the Lord of the Darkness's return, they understand that there is an evil in the world that they do live in and as Jack learns with great difficulty battling him that there is no light without dark and that are connected even though he lost the fight.
Brian Stroker's Dracula starring Gary Goldman as Prince Vlad and Dracula and Winona Ryder as the Fallen Princess and Mina, a school teacher is a story about the love and reincarnation of a Prince Vlad who goes off to war in order to defend the Christian Church meanwhile his bride, the Princess waits faithfully for his return knowing he can die.
Unfortunately after winning the way, the enemy sends a note bearing false news that Prince Vlad has died which sends the princess into great despair where she kills herself by drowning in a river.
Prince Vlad is reborn into Dracula, a bloodsucking monster who stabbed the cross with his sword after he returns to his castle finding his bride dead and the note bearing witnessing to his fake death. Angered by the church that her soul was damned and could not be saved - he drank from the blood that is poured from the pierced cross into a golden cup renouncing God. The Princess is reborn as well into a schoolteacher named Mina who stays with her rich friend Lucy while she waits for her fiancé Johnathan to come back from his business trip with unknowingly Dracula.
While Mina waits for her fiancé, her friend Lucy has not only become engaged to her third suitor but has been uncontrollable-ably, a host to Dracula who haunts her dreams so he can gain control of her mentally and drinks her precious blood before eventually killing her whereas Mina is constantly consumed by a presence who speaks gently in a foreign language to her and is overwhelmed.
As Johnathan is a guest to Dracula, he is pulled reluctantly into the world of darkness where he sees things that horrifies him like a mirror cracking, vampires feasting on a kidnapped baby, and Dracula himself, who hates Christianity and wishes for him to say longer as watched his picture of Mina that gives him a foreboding feeling of purpose and terror that he has brought his fiancé Mina into.
As Mina begins to see her newfound friend, she suddenly does not feel alone anymore as if he is always there with her, in her thoughts. By the sound of his voice, she remembers her home with him and who she was even though she fails to understand it is indeed herself remembering her own past life with him. As Jonathan finally escapes Dracula's castle and finds his way into the church, he writes to Mina as he wishes to marry her right away sensing the danger she is in while the nuns take care of him.
Both stories are unappreciated because of how the story of the relationship of Good and Evil is being told as well as the act of sacrifice that is known to only a few which makes the glory of the fight lost.
